Hi
I know its alphabetically motivated but it really befuddles me (in a wonderful way) that my local cinema in Antrim is the first listed on the current rundown of Quixote friendly cinemas. Going again tomorrow night. Background to attached image taken at said location (by me):
I saw it on Monday at the Science + Media Museum in Bradford, I certainly wasn't disappointed! It was a truly nutty and heartfelt love letter to the power of imagination. Ignore the critics, I couldn't see anything wrong with it ay all! It had two brilliant lead performances. Driver breaking into an Eddie Cantor song and dance was hilarious, and Jonathan Pryce was in retrospect, a no brainer for Quixote, adding gravitas and a noble charm. Ful review coming soon!
I remember an interview of Heath Ledger where he was saying that Brothers Grimm allowed him to go big with his acting and liberated him as an actor, which allowed him to aim for a more truthful performance in Brokeback Mountain. On the same level, I wonder if Driver's award nomination for Marriage Story owes something to his more exuberant work in Quixote.
