The Making of Quixote
Incidentally, the translation of the French captions on the trailer read.

"Some Say I'm Crazy"

"That I am Only Living By My Illusions"

"My Name is Don Quixote"

"I Cannot Die"

"After 25 years of Waiting... Terry Gilliam achieves his craziest dream"

"Magic. Fantasy. Extraordinary"

Even the French distributor, Ocean Films, share Gilliam's view on Branco. They put this statement on Quixote's French Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_f...3663148986

The trailer is glorious! So frustrating that we have to talk about more delays. It appears that Amazon didn't solve the Branco problem. What happens if Gilliam loses the lawsuit?

The consequences seem a bit foggy. The producers and distributors said they can release the film no matter what... Whether it's a bluff or not, I don't know. For the time being, I just hope the film is selected for Cannes.
Anyway, Branco just wants money so maybe they'd have to negociate a share of the profits, I don't know.

Yeah, technically, legally, the ruling hasn't put an injunction on stopping the film getting a release, so it could get a premiere at Cannes, indeed Ocean Films (the French distributor) are confident it'll get a release at Cannes. Oh, and Terry has been at it again on Facebook, clearly they don't have an equivalent of contempt of court in France. If this had been in the UK courts, they would find in favour of Branco for childish pics like this. Tongue https://www.facebook.com/Terry.Gilliam/p...2503817223

Here is a little report outside of the court last wednesday.... There are no subtitles but you can listen to Gilliam being enthusiast about his film :

The film won't be in Cannes. Thierry Frémaux answered to a journalist about this film and he seemed to say that the court case prevented it from showing (though he might have used it as a diplomatic excuse, too).
As usual, Frémaux will announce 1 or 2 films to complement the selection later, MAYBE the film will be part of that...
