RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 04-17-2019 Yeah, good average ! RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 04-17-2019 It's made more in it's one day screening than it did in most European countries!! To be fair, America is a bigger country, but it looks like the publicity Terry did in interviews, especially on Jimmy Fallon, where he came on dancing!! https://www.facebook.com/Terry.Gilliam/videos/683579675378072/ RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 04-18-2019 Gilliam was back on the Happy Sad Confused podcast talking to Josh Horowitz. iTunes link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/terry-gilliam-vol-ii/id827905050?i=1000435101449 Megaphone link: https://megaphone.link/PPY2986286459 Here's a link to the older Sept. 21, 2014 episode wherein Gilliam spoke about The Zero Theorem: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/terry-gilliam/id827905050?i=1000319214344 RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 04-18-2019 Also, Screen Media Films updated their Quixote section with links to the VOD services streaming Quixote: https://screenmediafilms.net/productions/details/2795/The-Man-Who-Killed-Don-Quixote RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 04-19-2019 Today's the USA release day! On the Terry Gilliam Reddit page, I've posted links to VOD services which are currently streaming the film: https://www.reddit.com/r/TerryGilliam/comments/bey8yi/todays_the_day_the_man_who_killed_don_quixote/ RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 04-20-2019 Terry Gilliam was interviewed on CouchSurfing: https://www.peopleewnetwork.com/video/terry-gilliam-ptv-couchsurf-terry-gilliam-master (This video couldn't be embedded.) RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-02-2019 It seems the closed captioning for Quixote on Amazon Prime Video (at least in the U.S.) is terrible: https://twitter.com/otdderamin/status/1123751326213603328 Thanks to Deramin (@otdderamin) on Twitter for pointing this out. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-02-2019 He should put an @amazon or @primevideo in his tweets, maybe they would fix it. Amazon Prime has apparently a bad habit of cutting corners for their subtitles or dubbing... Here in France, a few weeks ago, some people spotted a foreign film available on Prime only through a dubbed version where all the french dubbing was done by a robot voice (think Alexa acting) : only one male and one female voice automatically reading the script with no nuance, and also with pronunciation or grammar errors (and when characters yell, the 2 voices combine !) so yeah apparently Amazon prime is really shitty on that front. Anyway when amazon was put to shame on twitter over this matter, they at least took the film out of their platform : maybe they would correct quixote's subs if they've been made aware of it. RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-02-2019 I've already got that covered: https://twitter.com/GilliamReddit/status/1123776696497385472 RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-04-2019 A couple of items that I've posted over on the Terry Gilliam subreddit: 1.) A podcast interview with Giiliam's go-to cinematographer Nicola Pecorini http://www.studiodaily.com/2019/05/podcast-cinematographer-nicola-pecorini-finally-shooting-terry-gilliams-man-killed-don-quixote/ 2.) A wrap-up on the marketing of Quixote: https://cinematicslant.com/2019/04/11/the-man-who-killed-don-quixote-marketing-recap/ |
