WOW! That's more than most independent films, and I hope it does well. Adam Driver's profile is well on the rise, especially as he got a Golden Globe nomination for BlacKkKlansman, (and he might get an Oscar nomination yet), and they might use that to help sell the film as well as the fact it's taken over 25 years to get made.

Still no word on a UK release though. Sad

The only thing that bothers me is that Fathom Events is involved. They tend to do one or two day event showings of classic films and special events. The fact that they partnered with Screen Media suggests that a good chunk of those 700 screenings may be a one or two day showing of Quixote, with the rest regulated to major cities like a typical indie release.

France will release Quixote on DVD/BluRay on February 6: https://www.amazon.fr/The-Man-Who-Killed-Don-Quixote-Blu-ray/dp/B07MWQWXVX?tag=jeuxvideocom-21#mediaMatrix_secondary_view_div_1548204346479

Fingers crossed it's for real this time, it had already been announced then cancelled...

It was mentioned on Twitter that this was actually a Belgian release: https://twitter.com/inderweltsein/status/1088280351691149313

Interesting... I saw that the film was already available in Belgium for Video on Demand so that makes sense...
(given his history on that matter, the guy who gave that info on twitter is apparently on Paulo Branco's side in his conflict witrh Gilliam, and seems to know the situation from the inside)

I notice all has been quiet on the conflict between Branco and Gilliam, Branco hasn't tried to stop the American release, that's still on. Besides, all these lawsuits can't be cheap. It was even released in Branco's native Portugal on December 27th, no one tried to stop it.

RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 01-27-2019

Just searched for Quixote on Fandango.com. It seems there is a tentative US release date of April 10th: https://www.fandango.com/the-man-who-killed-don-quixote-216898/movie-overview

When I do a regular Google search for the film, I see theater showings for the same date in my area, but there is only one showtime per theater and it's for 7pm. I hope this doesn't mean Fathom Events will do a one night only showing.

I'm going to wait for an official announcement before I post this info elsewhere.

Edit: As of today, Fathom Events and Screen Media have yet to post anything about Quixote on their respective websites, which is why I'm hesitant to refer to this an official release date.

Here is a new interview with Jonathan Pryce about his recent films, including Quixote : https://www.comingsoon.net/movies/features/1033089-cs-interview-jonathan-pryce-on-the-wife-quixote-more
