RE: The Making of Quixote - MercuryZap - 07-29-2018

I suppose I like it because it’s modern while transmitting an old school, pop-baroque Gilliam touch or somethinkWink.
I think I see your point, though.
It’s a tough call. The kaleidoscopic design would definitely stand out amongst the banality of most modern posters but would that pique peoples interest or scare them off?

RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 07-29-2018

Actually my point went 2 ways : I don't think it sells the film well because it doesn't feature prominently Adam Driver, who will probably bring people in and also because I think it sells a "wild ride" film a la "Time Bandits" or "Munchausen", when the film is smaller and less wacky than that I feel.

RE: The Making of Quixote - MercuryZap - 07-29-2018

Ok. I understand. I suppose they’re potentially selling it on Gilliam’s reputation with this one. Probably why it appeals to me.

Terry has posted two more: https://www.facebook.com/256730041052484/posts/1864795383579267/ and https://www.facebook.com/256730041052484/posts/1865570610168411/

RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 07-30-2018

I like the last one more, it seems to sell the story of the film more (when the others are more concerned with wacky visuals) and banks on Adam Driver the most, which cannot be a bad thing Big Grin. Gilliam says other designs are coming, though.

"One more possibility."

By the way, the website of Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe's company has been updated with a bit of info about the upcoming making of "He dreams of Giants" :
Quote:COMING SOON from Low Key Pictures...
...a visceral journey into a film director's state of mind. Taking as its subject Terry Gilliam and his beleaguered 27-year quest to make a screen adaption of Don Quixote, this feature documentary explores the nature of creative obsession and an artist's quest for legacy in the face of mortality.

Here's one more, and it looks like one of Terry's Python animations. Tongue https://www.facebook.com/256730041052484/posts/1877928798932592/
