RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 10-31-2016 A few years ago, a famous french director did something close... He camouflaged his film by pretending his first assistant was the director. So the official director wasn't around when journalists visited etc., when someone exterior to the shoot asked, everybody on the crew played the game as if the assistant was the director. And then the film was unveiled as the new film of the famous director when it was shown at a festival. I guess that's only achievable if you work on a small film... RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 10-31-2016 Would Terry be as shrewd as that? He did say it was a temporary delay, and that the production hadn't been cancelled again. I think he might have been prepared for this eventuality, and had a plan B. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 11-01-2016 Even if he has a plan B, if he reschedules the problem is he might lose his actors who could be committed to other things (Adam Driver must be busy) and if he recast, he might lose the financing based on this particular cast etc. I'm not particularly optimist about this (anyway it's probably dead for a 2016 shoot). RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 11-01-2016 So far, the only movie currently on Adam Driver's plate is Quixote (according to the IMDb). The production of the final season of Girls would most likely affect Quixote's potential 2017 shooting schedule. The previous seasons tended to air from winter to spring, so I'd expect a mid to late spring or early summer shoot at best. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 11-02-2016 You'll have to keep an eye on the announcements coming from the American Film Market this week to know if Adam Driver has any other projects for 2017... I just read that Leos Carax's new film was in pre-production and he was rumored to be part of that... We'll see. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 11-04-2016 As I supposed, Adam Driver got busy with Leos Carax's new film planned for a late Spring shoot : http://variety.com/2016/film/news/adam-driver-rooney-mara-annette-leos-carax-1201908918/ RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 11-04-2016 At least Girls is no longer an obstacle: Quote:Driver recently wrapped shooting the sequel to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and the final season of “Girls.” RE: The Making of Quixote - phildreams - 11-04-2016 Leos Carax's pic is a Sparks musical! That has got me excited. It's the first I've heard of it, yet actually it was announced (with Driver attached) at the end of last year. A late spring start is mentioned, for 15 weeks, which suggests shooting April to July 2017. Sparks music works well on an accordion, as these people demonstrate far better than I could... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33eFiioGNYI RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 11-04-2016 If Terry Gilliam wants to catch back Adam Driver in 2017, I guess filming can only take place in january-february or in late summer. When autumn and winter come, Driver would have to travel the world to promote star wars so he won't be available. And if Gilliam doesn't manage to bring him back in 2017 it will surely be very difficult to have him in 2018 when the next star wars will start shooting. RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 11-18-2016 According to this webchat. It's on for April next year, as well as titbits about The Defective Detective and the Time Bandits TV series. No word on whether Adam Driver is still on for it. |
