I hope he's OK.In another report, it's said that he's been hospitalized after feeling faint this weekend before going back home on Sunday : As long as it's nothing too serious, but Gilliam has been prone to bouts of stress related attacks before. For example, during the making of Brazil, he got so stressed he lost all feeling in his legs for a week. What this sounds like is a panic attack, not as bad but still serious. I hope Branco is proud of himself. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-08-2018 He also had a heart attack after the collapse of the production in 2016... On a more positive note, here is the first english poster (which is just a translation of the french one) : ![]() EDIT : And here is a new article from the BBC with interviews done on set in May 2017 : http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20180507-terry-gilliam-quixote-this-cursed-film-is-finally-here?ocid=global_culture_rss RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-08-2018 The Playlist has also reported on Terry's recent health scare: https://theplaylist.net/terry-gilliam-hospitalized-cannes-20180508/ On the positive side, Quixote will get a wide release in China: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cannes-chinas-turbo-films-acquires-terry-gilliams-man-who-killed-don-quixote-1109660 Here's hoping Terry's health issues are minor and he will be ok to attend the Cannes screening. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-08-2018 A Spanish journalist got in touch with the Spanish producers and he can confirm that Gilliam didn't suffer a stroke : https://twitter.com/gbelinchon/status/993916498300293120 He just needs rest for now but he will travel to Cannes. RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-09-2018 Someone need to control the information on this film : http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2018/05/08/terry-gilliams-no-good-very-bad-horrible-luck-continues-as-amazon-drops-don That would have been a tremendous announcement if they just put the news that A24 will release the film in America, everybody would have cheered, now it's just another day with this "cursed film" nonsense and those kind of opinions : Quote:What the hell does this even mean for Don Quixote? Perhaps Amazon's already gotten a feel for how the court is going to lean, and doesn't want to deal with Branco or his rights disputes? Or maybe Don Quixote, well, isn't very good? RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-09-2018 Most of the British tabloids are claiming he HAS had a stroke, even though we know it's nothing of the kind. I wish they get their facts right. RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-09-2018 Once Quixote premiers in Cannes, it'll silence all the doubters, as the festival has been very supportive of the film and of Gilliam. Anyway, I suspect A24 wanted to wait for the Cannes premier to make that announcement. I only hope this leak about Amazon doesn't force their hand. RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-09-2018 Branco, twisting the knife, is claiming Amazon backed out because of the court case: http://variety.com/2018/film/global/paulo-branco-don-quixote-terry-gilliam-1202804194/ He really is a vindictive, heartless cunt, isn't he? >_< RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-09-2018 He's a dick. How would he be privy to the reasons of Amazon decisions ? Amazon which didn't want to be part of the film in 2016 because he was attached to it, by the way. Journalists are eating all his bullshit without fact-checking anything. |
