RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-01-2018 (05-01-2018, 12:36 AM)cclark Wrote: Good question. Amazon is still listed on the IMDb page: And Wikipedia. Plus, Amazon haven't had it removed from either site. Do they know something we don't? Besides, Branco is getting desperate now, in that last statement, his comments about Gilliam not being able to find another producer since 2000 is bollocks, what about Adrián Guerra, (producer of Buried (2010) and The Gunman (2015)), who was briefly attached? He couldn't come up with the money, but he hasn't thrashed around like Branco has threatening people with lawsuits. Branco's case is starting to crumble and he's desperately clutching at straws to try and get his way. RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-01-2018 Here's a great new video essay that sympathetically covers Terry's filmmaking struggles up to Quixote. It's actually more optimistic than its title might lead you to believe. RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-01-2018 New official French poster tweeted by @quixotemovie: ![]() RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-02-2018 The colours on this one (an "almodovaresque" palette somehow) seem to be closer to those in the film. RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-02-2018 Lovely poster! Meanwhile the film's French distributor Ocean Films have waded in to the whole legal debacle, backing the earlier statement by the Cannes organisers, asking "Why did we get here?" http://deadline.com/2018/05/the-man-who-killed-don-quixote-legal-threats-producers-distributor-respond-terry-gilliam-cannes-1202381011/ RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-02-2018 This new statement reinforces what I thought I understood when I read 2 of the prior judgements : there is nothing in the legal decisions saying Branco has the copyrights on this film. He's lying, pure and simple, drawing false conclusions from judgements that don't regard the same subject matters. By the way, if you read french, here is the link to the full statement : https://twitter.com/OceanFilmsFR/status/991626681461985280 RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-02-2018 I think everyone concerned, Gilliam, the distributors, the producers, the Cannes organisers and possibly the French judicial system, are beyond fed up with Branco's behaviour. If he carries on like this, Branco might end up getting blacklisted from making films, although from the horror stories I've heard about him, it's a wonder it hasn't happened before now. RE: The Making of Quixote - cclark - 05-03-2018 And now.... a message from Terry Gilliam: https://www.facebook.com/Terry.Gilliam/videos/vb.256730041052484/1754095104649296/?type=3&theater RE: The Making of Quixote - Donald McKinney - 05-03-2018 He seems incredibly confident that it will premiere at Cannes, which judging by Branco's behaviour, it will. ![]() RE: The Making of Quixote - bruttenholm - 05-06-2018 The tagline changes but the image stays the same, here is the Spanish poster for the film, with Warner Bros. Spain confirming the release for June 1st : ![]() https://twitter.com/WarnerBrosSpain/status/992838190246572035 |
