Time Bandits TV series
#1
After years of rumors, the adaptation of Time Bandits into a TV series is finally happening and it's Apple that will air it : https://deadline.com/2018/07/time-bandit...202435077/
Few information for the moment but Gilliam will have a credit as executive producer (which should mean he will be involved as little as possible).

I read in an interview for the italian Vanity Fair that he was in conflict with the producers because he refused to sign his contract where there was a clause preventing him to say or do anything that could be deemed offensive (he added that his lawyer was now trying to find a solution)... Sounds like it's why he says here that his contract is "not quite signed".
It shows how Gilliam's star has tarnished following his recent comments on metoo etc.

I think Gilliam is beyond caring at the minute, he's got nothing left to prove and nothing left to lose. But, I will admit, learning news second hand about a project you created originally isn't right.

What's strange here is that the producers could act careless with their "12 monkeys" tv series announcement, for example, because Gilliam has no right on the property but I guess here they still have to get Gilliam's approval to get the rights so they shouldn't oppose him too much if they want to have their way...

Terry Gilliam really liked Taika Waititi's new film "Jojo Rabbit" apparently, a good sign for this series. He talks about it a bit around the 1hr mark in this new podcast (worth listening to, also, even if it's a lot of anecdotes one might have heard already) : http://maltinonmovies.libsyn.com/terry-gilliam

Apparently the production of the series would start next August and last until January 2023 : https://www.theilluminerdi.com/2022/04/2...-dinklage/
I don't know the credibility of this website so take it with a grain of salt.
Also the first time I see the names of Jemaine Clement and Iain Morris linked to it.

Does anyone have the script Terry Gilliam and Charles McKeown did for the cancelled sequel in 1997?

Never found it. I wonder if Waititi will incorporate some of the ideas in the series.
