Her elevator tweet was a bit too cryptic. We don't know if she was speaking from personal experience, or if she was angry about his tone deaf remarks regarding Weinstein. The interview is from two years ago, before the MeToo movement made it safer for victims to speak out against their abusers. Either way, she needs to clarify what she meant as it does the movement no good to make false accusations.
Terry takes on #MeToo, Weinstein, Trump and John Cleese!!

Here's a list of Barkin's Gilliam-related tweets from January of this year to the most recent: http://www.indiewire.com/2018/03/ellen-b...201940840/

This is what the whole #MeToo thing has done, people can be prosecuted on social media with little or no evidence. This is what Terry was getting at, now it's blown up in his face. People who'd rather take each allegation on a case by case basis, are now considered to be as complicit in said allegations all for saying "Wait a minute..." It's a horrible side effect that NO-ONE is doing anything to stop.

I don't understand why she refuses to even say what he allegedly did.

You can't make statements like that all surrounded in mystery, besides we haven't heard from Gilliam himself yet. I think he'll have gone to ground for the time being.
I have a feeling he said something to her (recently?) in passing along the lines of the tone-deaf remarks he made in the recent interview, and it may have caused a falling out. Still, it would be better if she clarified.
According to this tweet, she didn't see anything on the Fear & Loathing set: https://twitter.com/EllenBarkin/status/9...8263773184 Quote:Back&2TheLeft

Barkin was originally up for the role of Jill in Brazil, and Gilliam wanted her too, but they couldn't come to terms on a contract.
It sounds like it's something Gilliam has said, but if it's because of his sharp tongue, well we ALL know about that. Gilliam can be as opinionated and critical as Jeremy Clarkson.

She doesn't even tell if it's something he's done or something he's said... Meanwhile all those who support her over that tweet suppose he groped her or something like that....

Yeah, from what I gather, it's like they've had a falling out over #MeToo. It's obviously started as a disagreement and it's snowballed into a fall out. But, Barkin not saying what it is either way is damaging and foolish. It's a bit like last year when Lena Headey called him a bully, choosing to lump him in with Weinstein, when we know the truth is more complex than that.
