Gilliamesque pictures and drawings
#1
I thought that it might be a good idea to have a thread about "gilliamesque" pictures, photos, drawings...
I just found the website of french illustrator Laurent Gapaillard (I understand that he works as a designer for the cinema, too) and he and gilliam are meant to work together...

Some of these pictures reminds me of french illustrator Claude Ponti (mostly for children's books) :

Ill put that here for those interested : Christophe Goffette is selling an original drawing by Terry Gilliam on ebay for his non-profit organization Blue Indians (created to bring help to native americans and aborigenes) : http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Dessin-original-d...2edc631340
Goffette and Gilliam are friends (Goffette was the chief editor of the french cinema magazine Brazil).
The ebay auction starts at 500 euros.

I do like the creepy and weird look to that original ZT concept art. Kind of reminds me of Cronenberg's Videodrome (1983).

My only question is: Is that computer violating Qohen's behind by means of tentacles, or is Qohen really diving into his own poop? The latter would be reminiscent of Slavoy Zizek's theory from Pervert's Guide to Cinema, which holds that with films as psychological wish fulfillment, we as the viewers are pretty much staring into the toilet bowl and wait for our own repressed shit to come back up.
