Terrific Bruttenholm - your research on this has been excellent. What we don't know is whether or not the funding is solid for the August 2015 shoot.

Apparently the pre-sells have been strong in Berlin and if they shoot in august they could get more money at the Cannes film market in may so that's at least encouraging.

Great job! I'd spotted this other article on Twitter over the weekend (which also mentions Cameron Diaz' rumoured role), but Bruttenholm beat me to the punch.

I wonder if Gilliam would consider writing this bit of news into the script.

A new interview with Gilliam where he talks a bit about The man who killed Don Quixote (starting at the 10th minute)

The final Spielberg thing is truly hilarious! It came at me out of the blue, and seemingly at Terry too! Big Grin

An article from deadline states that Gilliam (as long as Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch) has made a deal with Amazon Studios...
Quote:Though it has made early movie deals with the likes of Spike Lee, Terry Gilliam and Jim Jarmusch, Amazon is too new to assess. But you can see how this emerging alternative to traditional theatrical is already turning the business on its ear.
I guess we'll have to wait for any announcement from Amazon at Cannes to know more about Quixote, then.

By the way, the film is listed as one of the "titles titillating buyers" by deadline.

Grégoire Melin of Kinology also speaks of an August starting date for the film:
Quote:Now we're working on Terry Gilliam’s Don Quixote, and just came back from Spain after working with Terry – we aim to start shooting the film in August.
