The incomparable Stephen Sondheim has left the theatre.
I am utterly stunned to hear of Steve's death, having been immersed in his world for so long, working on our production of Into The Woods.. He was the most brilliant of lyricists, witty, wise, playful, and always knock-you-off-your-feet surprising, As a composer, his music iremains exquisite and beautiful.
He was a wonderful support in our ongoing attempts to find new, untrodden paths through the woods, ever keen to see what magic we might find. Fearless and funny, full of sparkle and dry charm, his passing is a great loss."
