He also says that he doesn't announce a film if he does'nt have the funds secured or in the process of being secured, which is quite comforting...
I don't know, in France, Branco as a reputation of being kind of the last true maverick producer... Closing a budget by earning some money at poker etc. He's really quixotic in that way but he has mostly made small or very small budget films (I think his biggest film is still Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, with a budget along the lines of what is announced for Quixote).
