Hi - There’s a nice page and a half update on this project authored by Thomas Flew in the latest, June 2023, issue of Sight & Sound magazine.

The pictures are stunning.

When asked about their aesthetic, the brothers replied: “the dizzying hours spent inching cowards the thinnest sliver of a second in order to make that lunatic journey around the circumference of an Apple.”

Bodes well…

Thanks MercuryZap, is there any talk of a release date for the film?

Here are scans from the Sight and Sound article, as mentioned above. Also, you can view this on the Brothers Quay SubReddit.

The film has been released in the US by KimStim Films. I saw it last Saturday at The Film Forum in NYC (where it has now been extended for another week).

It might be the Quays' second best feature film (after Institute Benjamenta), though I feel they are at their best with the short films. It would certainly make a very good double feature with Phil Tippet's Mad God.
