Spamalot movie dream cast - cclark - 12-08-2019
I recently posted my dream cast for the film version of Spamalot to r/MontyPython on Reddit:

Benedict Cumberbatch and Peter Dinklage were rumored to star, but Cumberbatch is out thanks to the Doctor Strange sequel (link: https://canoe.com/entertainment/celebrity/marvel-movie-kept-cumberbatch-from-king-arthur-role-in-pythons-spamalot). Also, I think the recent Disney acquisition of Fox may have postponed the film for a bit.
Here's my full list:
- Michael Fassbender as King Arthur.
- Peter Dinklage as Patsy.
- If they are able to add more bits of the original film, then I'd like to see Daniel Craig as the Black Knight (he was great in Knives Out).
- Tiffany Haddish is fine as The Lady of the Lake (see article linked above), but I also like Sara Ramirez, who played her in the original Broadway production.
- Chris Hemsworth as Sir Lancelot.
- Simon Pegg as Sir Bedevere.
- Jemaine Clement as Sir Robin.
- Bret McKenzie as Singing Minstrel.
- Lin-Manuel Miranda as Sir Dennis Galahad.
- John Hodgman as the Historian.
- Tom Hiddleston as the lead Knight Who Says Kni.
- Stephen Merchant as Prince Herbert.
- Ricky Gervais as the French Taunter.
- Peter Serafinowicz as Roger the Shrubber.
- Sean Bean as Not Dead Fred.
- Benedict Cumberbatch as Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Film.
- Kate McKinnon as Dennis.
- Eddie Izzard as Dennis' Mother.
- Tina Fey as the Witch.
- Mike Myers as Prince Herbert's Father.
