Don Quixote Movie in the Works at Disney - cclark - 10-14-2016
This version is very likely the same as the other Johnny Depp/Quixote movie that was in development with Disney a few years back. Is Depp's (possible) lack of involvement due to Gilliam's letter, or The Lone Ranger's poor box office performance? (Or maybe both?)

I guess the diminishing returns at the box-office on Depp's recent movies explain why he's -seemingly- out of the project.

In a perfect world, Gilliam would direct both version: his own personal meta-Quixote, and the comedy/adventure/supernatural fantasy version for Disney—but using the same exact cast for both movies with no other connective tissue between the two films, leaving the audience to figure it out on their own.

Hmmm...the link says that it's about a delusional man who only thinks that he's Don Quixotte... So you may never know, maybe soon we'll hear that Terry has directed his first Disney movie? He's always loved Pinocchio, after all!
