This is just a small Gilliam spotting.

Was just bumbling around that Twitter there and noticed that Simon Pegg's filming a new film by a Python, Terry Jones (evidence: https://twitter.com/simonpegg/status/453836747445911552/photo/1)

The other Python's (inc. Gilliam) are playing 'extraterrestrial's' in the film: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolutely_Anything

Terry Jones talked about it for Empire.

Ah, *FINALLY* this is getting off the ground! I still feel embarrassed for having plastered the news all over Facebook in 2010, and then nothing ever happened about it getting forward, and it was like I'd played some kind of trick on people.

Wait...judging from the Twitter pic, the guy looks like Scotty from the new Star Trek films? *checks Wikipedia* Oh! Gotta say, I do like that new Scotty, he's funnier than the old one. Fun fact: This new Scotty's German dubbing voice happens to be the same as Heath Ledger's (RIP)! Let's hope Terry G.'s gonna be instructing the camera crew again, just like back on Holy Grail. Let Terry J. direct the actors, he's got that going well.

Quote:I'm really excited! Simon Pegg, who I've been a fan of for a long time, gets on with Kate Beckinsale - who plays Neil's love interest - like a house on fire. There's real chemistry between them. So yes, I'm very excited.

Hm. Think they're really gonna let Terry J. in on their affair for a love triangle? I mean, considering the age difference and all...

No sweat. We've all seen that happen on a handful of projects that would get stuck in development hell. And that's perfectly normal for Gilliam. I'm just glad that the other Terry was able to keep the ball rolling and it looks like it'll pay off.

Also, the project has been snatched by Lionsgate UK. See here.

Actually, the film has a twitter account.

RE: Absolutely Anything - cclark - 04-10-2014

Glad to see Eric Idle is on board. He had denied being a part of it before.

RE: Absolutely Anything - Donald McKinney - 04-11-2014

Good to see Idle is on board, plus it's good to see Jones is working with cinematographer Peter Hannan, they did a wonderful job of filming Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (1983). Some pictures have been published by the Daily Mail, with Pegg and Beckinsale on set with Sanjeev Bashkar!! Big Grin
