Fascinating read there. I had kinda suspected that Terry was in to Paganism ever since his Holy Grail commentary.

I dunno. Is totemism/animism/shamanism (to avoid the label of "primitive" religion) really the same as polytheistic paganism? A spirit is not the same as a deity. Not the same "level" of cultural anthropology, so to speak. But the image of a native praying to a tree and then the tree killing the native, that could totally be from one of Terry's animations!
Oh, and I remember Terry saying in another interview before that his imagination came from listening a lot to radio as a kid. Poor Terry, now they've taken his radio!
